Joel and Nancy have made a tremendous impact – accelerating prostate cancer research and spreading awareness about the importance of prostate cancer screening through their family's transformational support of the American Cancer Society.

Mr. B. Thomas Golisano is an entrepreneur, philanthropist, and founder of Paychex, Inc. who is leaving a lasting legacy. In 2024, Golisano gifted $500 million to over 120 nonprofits, including a $2 million unrestricted gift to the ACS Golisano Hope Lodge, bringing his lifetime support of the American Cancer Society to $6 million.

The act of giving is nothing new to Mickey and Lee Segal. It has been a part of their lives since their childhood, learning the importance of giving, family, and tradition from their parents at an early age.

The Bernard A. Egan Foundation has made significant contributions to the American Cancer Society (ACS), sponsoring the ACS Hope Gala in Vero Beach, FL and helping build a Hope Lodge in Jacksonville, FL.

In 2020, 107 years into the American Cancer Society’s fight, 107 donors pooled their charitable resources to make sure research could proceed in spite of a global pandemic.

Established in 1997, the Jules L. Plangere, Jr. Family Foundation recently gifted $1 million to allow American Cancer Society funded research to continue during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Since losing his spouse to ovarian cancer, Ray Young has been an avid supporter of the American Cancer Society. He now chairs the Research Committee of ACS Illinois to help continue our mission.
