Chief Operating Officer

Art delaCruz serves as chief operating officer for the American Cancer Society. In this role, Art helps connect strategy to execution across the enterprise, strengthening operational discipline, alignment, accountability, and collaboration in support of ACS’ mission and priorities.

Art brings more than three decades of leadership experience across nonprofit, corporate, and military settings. Art most recently served at Team Rubicon, where he held both chief executive officer and president and chief operating officer roles, helping lead a veteran-led humanitarian organization through growth, operational execution, and complex response work. 

Earlier in his career, Art served as senior director of strategic planning at Northrop Grumman and spent more than 20 years as a United States Naval officer, including service as a commanding officer and TOPGUN instructor. Art holds a Master of Science in operations management from the University of Arkansas and a Bachelor of Science in physics from the United States Naval Academy. 

Based in Rancho Palos Verdes, California, delaCruz also has experience serving on advisory and oversight boards, including with Team Rubicon, the VA West LA Veterans and Community Oversight Board, Picture Motion, and the University of Arizona’s Difference Engine.
