Paul Thienprayoon, MBA, MS

Chief of Staff 

Paul Thienprayoon, MBA, MS, serves as the chief of staff for the Office of the Chief Executive Officer at the American Cancer Society, where he works in partnership with the CEO and groups across the organization to help develop, implement, and ultimately communicate the organization’s internal and external strategy. Paul serves as a member of the Executive Team, helping to drive the effectiveness of the group and providing support across the C-suite.

Paul most recently served as chief of staff for the ACS Patient Support Pillar since 2022, where he worked to ensure that the strategy, operations, and resources of the Patient Support Pillar were fully aligned to advance the organization’s mission. In this role, Paul partnered with senior leaders to drive programs and services that reach more than 111 million people each year, delivering critical support to cancer patients, caregivers, and families across the country. Paul also led the creation of several professional development programs and the ACS Urgent Mission team dedicated to supporting cancer patients and caregivers negatively impacted by global disasters.

Prior to joining ACS, Paul served as Chief Operating Officer of LADD, Inc., a nonprofit supporting adults with developmental disabilities. Paul's leadership protected a highly vulnerable population during the COVID-19 pandemic and helped launch the nation’s first Smart Forever Home, an award-winning model that enables independent living through innovative technology.

Paul is also a former US Air Force officer and B-1B bomber pilot with over 250 combat missions across Afghanistan, Iraq, and Syria. Paul was selected to command the first strike mission against ISIS in Syria during Operation Inherent Resolve.

Currently finishing a Doctor of Education at Xavier University, Paul’s research focuses on veteran leadership and workforce inclusion. Paul lives in Cincinnati, Ohio, with his wife, Dr. Rachel Thienprayoon, and their two young daughters.
