Skin Cancer Galleries

Learn about skin cancer prevention and detection with the skin cancer galleries below.

How to Recognize Skin Cancer

What does skin cancer look like? It can vary depending on the type of cancer. The images in this gallery will show you some examples of basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and melanoma, as well as some benign skin conditions. Be sure to talk to your doctor about any spot or sore on your skin that is new or changing, even if it doesn’t look like one of these images.

How to Do a Skin Self-Exam

Most skin cancers can be found early with skin exams. Both regular exams by your doctor and checking your own skin frequently can help find cancers early, when they are easier to treat. Many doctors recommend checking your own skin regularly, preferably once a month. The Skin Self-exam Gallery will show you how to look for new or changing spots or sores on your skin.

Skin Cancer Videos

The videos in this collection explain skin cancer risk factors and how to reduce your risk, what you should be looking for on your skin, and treatments. There are also personal stories about melanoma and basal cell carcinoma skin cancer.
