Director of Estate and Gift Planning
Regions covered: Indiana
Beatrice Cork came into the non-profit world after working for many years in another industry. She worked for over a decade in various capacities with small, grass roots organizations specializing in the full inclusion of people with disabilities first in Michigan and then Indiana. She has also garnered significant experience in higher education fundraising, raising several five and six-figure gifts for capital campaigns at both IUPUI and Butler University. In 2011, her efforts secured a $6M gift for the Schrott Center of Art on Butler’s campus (at that time the largest gift from a private individual).
She left Butler to pursue a role in gift planning with the YMCA of Greater Indianapolis, and spent nearly 3 years there as Director of Major and Planned Giving. Her most recent role as a Gift Planning Officer for the American Red Cross sees her focusing on deferred and estate gifts with individuals throughout the Midwest. Beatrice considers it a privilege to work with the donors that support the mission of our institutions, and is a careful steward of their gifts. She loves to share the powerful impact of raising funds via gift planning to support the future viability of an institution.
Beatrice has a Bachelor’s Degree from Indiana University and a Master’s in Rehabilitation with a concentration in gerontology from Western Michigan University. She sits on the board of her local planned giving council, is the Vice President of the endowment board of Storytelling Arts of Indiana and a member of the Community Advisory Board for “Comparing Interventions to Increase Colorectal Cancer Screening in Low-Income and Minority Patients”, a PCORI contract of Indiana University.
She and her husband of over 32 years have one daughter and they enjoy traveling the world.
