John has more than 20 years of experience in the financial service and insurance industry as a Business Development Executive, a Registered Representative, and a Certified Sales Trainer.

In addition to being a small business owner, John has worked for such organizations as American Century Funds, Thrivent Financial, TD Ameritrade and most recently JPMorgan Chase. His roles with these organizations have covered management, marketing and communications, product development, financial and estate planning and retail sales.

John graduated from Baker University with a BA in business administration. He also attended University of St Thomas, Houston where he studied Certified Financial Planning.  His professional affiliations have included the American Marketing Association, National Association of Active Investment Managers (NAAIM), and the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD).

John currently resides in Houston, Texas with his wife and kids. He enjoys mountain biking, outdoor cooking, and music. His passion is giving back to others which has included sitting on the local boards of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, VEL Institute, First Tee and several others. He is also a team leader for the Woodlands Church.

John came to the American Cancer Society seeking an opportunity to utilize his entrepreneurial and community building skills to work with Estate Planning Professionals and their clients. Raising money for cancer research is an important and personal matter for John as he has had several friends and family members succumb to different forms of cancer.
