Why I Work at ACS

I’m committed to research that tackles health inequities across the cancer continuum, from prevention to survivorship. Research at the American Cancer Society informs public health policies and interventions that reduce cancer inequities, and I’m proud to contribute to this work.”

At ACS since 2022

Jordan Baeker Bispo, PhD, MPH, is a principal scientist of Cancer Disparity Research of the Surveillance & Health Equity Science department. She studies structural and social determinants of disparities in cancer control, with an emphasis on cancer screening and early detection in marginalized populations.

Research focus and accomplishments

Baeker Bispo’s research focuses on disparities in adverse breast and cervical cancer outcomes. She is particularly interested in how neighborhoods’ social and built environments affect utilization of preventive care services and contribute to racial/ethnic disparities in cancer outcomes.

She has also contributed to community-based interventions for increasing the uptake of screening for cervical cancer in medically underserved groups.
