Deidre Bacala

Senior Director of Principal Partnerships

Deidre brings more than 20 years of fundraising experience to the American Cancer Society. She joined the Society in 2014 as the Hope Lodge Dallas campaign director and successfully completed the $25 million capital campaign. She then served as the Senior Director of Major Gifts for the South Region leading the regional Major Gifts team. In her current nationwide role she partners and collaborates with the regions in their Hope Lodge fundraising efforts.

With more than 17 years of healthcare development experience, Deidre served as the Director of Donor Relations and Annual Programs with Parkland Foundation. During her six years with Parkland, she was a member of the leadership team for the I Stand for Parkland campaign – a $150 million capital campaign to build a new hospital. She oversaw the annual programs, donor relations, naming opportunities and events. One of her professional highlights was planning and executing the groundbreaking ceremony for the New Parkland.

From 1995 – 2006, Deidre was with the Texas Health Resources and Presbyterian Healthcare Foundation serving in various roles including the Director of Annual Giving. During this time, she began the system-wide employee giving campaign, enhanced the direct mail program, expanded the tribute giving program at five hospitals, and held a portfolio of annual donors.

Outside of the office, Deidre enjoys time with her family, husband Chris, a landscape architect, and their two young boys. After many years in the Junior League of Dallas, Deidre is now a sustaining member. During her active years, she held several leadership positions including a term on the Board of Directors. Currently, she is an active member of Cattle Baron’s Ball raising critical funds for cancer research, as well as a member of the Board of Trustees for St. John's Episcopal School in Dallas. Deidre received her Bachelor of Science from Texas A&M University.
