Machelle Locsin

Director of Major Gifts

Machelle has been a staff member with the American Cancer Society since 1999. She originally studied to be a mechanical engineer, but her path suddenly changed when her father was diagnosed and quickly succumbed to lung cancer. Her career has been dedicated to her father from that time forward.

Machelle has lead efforts in Relay For Life, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, Operations, and Community Engagement. She has managed the operations of a region that annually raised $12 million and served 15,000 individuals with information, programs, or service; has led high performing teams and has created strategic alliances to effectively support key business initiatives and achieve goals. In her most recent role with the Society, Machelle lead the integration of community engagement, health systems, and corporate and distinguished partner activity, including major gifts, in California’s Greater Bay Area.

When she is not advancing the Society’s mission, Machelle enjoys being a gymnastics and basketball mom to her two kids. She is an active Rotarian and serves on the board for Christmas in the Park – A San Jose Tradition. Machelle is married to Ben Locsin and lives in Silicon Valley.
