Melissa brings more than 10 years of experience in philanthropy.  Most recently, she served as Director of Development at Georgia State University where she worked with various constituencies to build resources for the students, faculty, and programs for Georgia State.  She was responsible for collaborating with University leadership to develop and execute an annual development plan in order to raise gifts of up to seven figures.  At Georgia State, Melissa was part of a team that raised a record of $32 million in 2014.

Melissa's development career began at the University of Georgia where she worked to build relationships between Alumni and the University of Georgia.  Melissa later joined Emory University as Associate Director of Alumni Relations where she developed a pipeline of donors through personal and program engagement that ultimately would be solicited at the major gift level.   Melissa also served as a consultant to a non-profit in the Atlanta area that raises research dollars for an early detection test for ovarian cancer, and spreads awareness.

Melissa received her bachelor's degree from the University of Georgia in Journalism.

Melissa will be based in Atlanta where she lives with her husband Bryan, 18 month old daughter McConnell, and crazy schnauzer Bailey. She is a huge Georgia Bulldog fan and an avid Crossfitter.
