As the Director of Major Gifts, Dara is an effective fundraiser who solicits leadership gifts from individuals and foundations in NJ in an effort to fund the fight against cancer.

Previously, as the Director of Estate and Gift Planning for the American Cancer Society, Dara was responsible for building and stewarding relationships with donors and with estate and financial planning professionals to provide information about the ACS’s programs and services pertaining to cancer control. She coordinated suggestions for planned giving vehicles in efforts to facilitate constituent desires to put an end to cancer as a major health concern.  In her year and a half in the planned giving business unit, she obtained a gift officer value of approximately $3.1 Million. 

Before her career at the American Cancer Society, she worked in her family business focusing on sales and marketing within the event planning and catering industries.  She was also responsible for the design, build-out, and management of a thriving boutique catering venue.  Prior to that, she worked in fundraising at the American Red Cross, raising over $2 Million from corporate and individual sponsorships. She started her non-profit career at the Philadelphia Zoo in special events and promotions. 

Dara lives in Cherry Hill, New Jersey with her husband, Garrick, her two daughters, Sophie and Charlie and her dog, Puddles.  She enjoys exercising, cooking, the beach, spending time with family and friends and is a very active member of the South Jersey community.
