How Chevrolet is Helping Us Save Lives
Chevrolet is proud to be a National Partner Program member of the American Cancer Society® Making Strides Against Breast Cancer® program for the sixth consecutive year. Chevrolet’s support includes dealers, employees, customers and friends all helping to promote breast cancer awareness and help make a difference. Chevrolet and participating dealers across the country support the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer events through a variety of activities such as event sponsorships, team participation and customer involvement.
Chevrolet supports the American Cancer Society in many ways:
Chevrolet supported the partnership through a social media engagement program in October 2016 that encouraged people to share who they drive in support of using #IDriveFor. Chevrolet contributed $5 for every social post (up to $500,000) on Twitter and Instagram using #IDriveFor.
In addition, Chevrolet made a $350 contribution (up to $50,000) for each caution lap taken in the pink Chevy SS pace car at the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series™ races at Talladega Superspeedway and Martinsville Speedway. Breast cancer survivor events were also hosted at these tracks, where survivors and caregivers were treated to a once-in-a-lifetime experience!
In coordination, General Motors employees across the country participated in local Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walks; gathered coworkers, family and friends to join in the fight against breast cancer and show their support.
Chevrolet and General Motors have raised more than $6 million dollars for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer program which has helped raise awareness for a cause that affects millions of lives every day. The Chevrolet family is proud to support the American Cancer Society and their efforts to end the fight against breast cancer and to help more families celebrate more birthdays.
