Prevent20
The Prevent20 coalition is a group of cancer organizations working together to raise tobacco taxes and reduce cancers. Prevent20 is so named in recognition that more than 20% of all global cancer deaths are attributable to tobacco use and are preventable. ACS is a founding member of Prevent20.
The Tobacco Atlas
The sixth edition of the book and companion website (tobaccoatlas.org), produced by the American Cancer Society and Vital Strategies and released March 2018, detail tobacco’s myriad physical, social, and economic harms, and offers a set of evidence-based tools to advance a tobacco-free world.
Technical Assistance and Peer Exchange (TAPE)
Our Technical Assistance and Peer Exchange (TAPE) program leverages our in-house Economic and Health Policy Research (EHPR) experts to engage with the appropriate local research partners to identify and work on the most pressing research questions that will influence governments to overcome some of the perceived barriers to raising tobacco taxes to an optimal level. Our current work is in Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Bangladesh, Peru, and Brazil.
