Ashish Rai, PhD, MSPH, MBBS

Director of Outcomes Research

Ashish Rai, PhD, MSPH, MBBS is the Director of Outcomes Research in the Surveillance and Health Services Research Program at the American Cancer Society. His research interests include evaluation of the clinical and cost outcomes of cancer screening and management policies and leveraging electronic health records for comparative effectiveness research in cancer.  

Dr. Rai received his Ph.D. in health services research and health policy (economics cognate) from the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University, Atlanta.  During his doctoral training, Dr. Rai collaborated with the Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University on several research projects, managed a global health initiative at the Emory Institute for Drug Development, and served as an ORISE Fellow at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).  Prior to his doctoral training, Dr. Rai earned his MSPH degree from Emory University and his medical degree from University of Allahabad, India.
