Chunchieh “Anna” Lin, PhD, MBA

Chunchieh “Anna” Lin, PhD, MBA is a director of health services research in the Intramural Research Department of the American Cancer Society. In the past two years, she engaged in several projects focusing on access to care and patterns and outcomes of cancer treatment with Health Services Research (HSR) team members and external collaborators. For example, the study of association of medical oncologist availability and initiation of chemotherapy discussed the issue of access to cancer care among patients who lived in areas that did not have medical oncologists. The study of the treatment patterns among prostate cancer patients looked at the factors affecting receipt of guideline suggested treatment. Dr. Lin received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from National Taiwan University and an M.B.A. from Georgia State University. In 2010, she completed her Ph.D. in Health Service Organization and Research from Virginia Commonwealth University. Dr. Lin is well versed in the analysis of health services research data using Hospital Compare, Nursing Home Compare, AHA, OSCAR, HIMSS, Medicare and Medicaid claims and cancer registry data (SEER, NAACCR, and NCDB). Her research interests include the evaluation of treatment compliance and quality, access to care, and disparities by race, ethnicity and insurance status. Prior to joining ACS, she worked for Johnson & Johnson Medical Taiwan in senior marketing.
