Jiemin Ma, PhD, MHS, Strategic Director of Cancer Interventions Surveillance, joined the American Cancer Society in 2010. His research focuses on cancer disparities and evaluating the impact of cancer interventions, such as tobacco control and screening, on cancer incidence and mortality among different populations. Dr. Ma received a B.S. (1994) in Preventive Medicine from Hebei Medical University, a Ph.D. (2010) in Epidemiology and a MHS (2010) in Biostatistics from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. During 1999-2004, he was an assistant research scientist at the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention and the Peking Union Medical College.
