Helmneh M. Sineshaw, MD, MPH

Director, Treatment Patterns and Outcomes Research

Helmneh Sineshaw, MD, MPH, is a director of treatment patterns and outcomes research at the American Cancer Society. Dr. Sineshaw joined the American Cancer Society as a senior epidemiologist in November of 2012.

His research has focused on examining patterns and outcomes of cancer treatments with respect to differences in determinants of health. The goal of his research is to contribute evidence in how to reduce disparities and improve access to up-to-date high quality cancer treatment across all population subgroups. He also collaborates with external scientists from Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, North American Association of Central Cancer Registries, The University of Texas Medical Branch, Oregon Health Sciences University, and others across the United States.

Dr. Sineshaw received an MD degree from Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia, in 1999 and an MPH degree from Indiana University-Purdue University in 2011.
